Moscow, December 6, Interfax - The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church will set the date for the Church Council session, at which the 16th Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia is to be elected, soon after Patriarch Alexy II's funeral, Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, the head of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations, said in a television program on Saturday. Alexy II will be buried on Tuesday, December 9.
