Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa
On 1st october 2008, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, in a simple ceremony in the Patriarchal office, awarded the Cross of the Apostle Mark to the Honourable Mr. Apostolos Dedas, who, accompanied by his wife Mrs Ioanna Deda, visited Alexandria, to pay his respects to His Beatitude.
This award of distinction made to Mr Dedas, is in appreciation and gratitude of the Alexandrian Church to the Greek Rescue Group, especially to Mr Dedas himself, for his contirbution to the salvaging of the bodies of the late Patriarch Petros VII and his entourage from the sea off the coast of Mount Atgos, following the air disaster on 11th September 2004.
