The Romanian Orthodox community in and around Tokyo, Japan, will soon have both a new priest and a chapel where they will be able to worship. Father Alexandru Nicodim was named parish priest of the St. Georges parish in Ito, a town located 100km from Tokyo. In Ito, the Romanian Orthodox community has already organized itself and bought a building which will become parish house. Rev. Alexandru Nicodim will leave for Japan at the end of this month.
The Romanian Orthodox community in Japan is of around 4,000 believers who are belonging to the two parishes of Tokyo and Osaka. In the near future, the St. Georges parish in Japan will build a church, whose project already exists.
