His Beatitude Theodoros II in Egypt

On 27th September 2008, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa visited the Holy Monastery of St George in Old Cairo, where he blessed the newly renovated areas ( Patriarchal rooms, hierarchal guest rooms, 14 guest rooms for missionaries, Synod room, refectory).

On the evening of the same day he went to the Church of the Holy Unmercenaries in Subra to install its new parish Priest Hieromonk Arkadios Ranzy, to whom he gave directions for the beginning of the renovation works for the church, as well as for the intensification of the work on the historic Spiritual Centre of the area in issues of philanthropy, youth, scholarships, etc.

On the next day, Sunday 28th September 2008, His Beatitude officiated and preached the homily at the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Monastery of St George in Old Cairo, after which in the Patriarchal Crypt, he conducted a memorial service for the repose of the souls of his Predecessors. He also received and gave his Patriarchal blessing to a large group of pilgrims from Macedonia .

Also, that night, in the offices of the Patriarchal Vicariate in Cairo , he had talks with His Eminence Nicholas of Ermopolis, on issues regarding the imminent convocation of the Middle East Council of Churches in Nicosia , Cyprus , where the ancient Patriarchate will be represented by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Ermopolis and His Eminence Metropolitan George of Zimbabwe.
