SOUTH CANAAN, PA [OCA Communications] -- Fifteen students were honored at the 66th annual commencement exercises at Saint Tikhon's Seminary here on Saturday, May 24, 2008.

His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America and President of the seminary, was joined by other members of the Holy Synod of Bishops at the commencement, which took place in conjunction with the annual pilgrimage to Saint Tikhon's Monastery. His Eminence, Archbishop Seraphim of Ottawa and Canada delivered the commencement address.

Receiving Master of Divinity degrees were Matthew Baker, Theodore Brinegar, Nicholas Dellerman, the Rev. George Elliot, the Rev. Isaac Farha, Jason Franchak, the Rev. Philip Kontos, Deacon Igor Ksynyuk, the Rev. Seraphim Majmudar [valedictorian], Deacon Dennis Mathai [distinction in pastoral theology], Deacon Nikolai Meyers [distinction in pastoral theology], the Rev. David Moretti, John Murray II, Deacon Adam Sexton, and Kyrill Williams [distinction in Scripture]. Of the graduates, nine represent the Orthodox Church in America and three represent the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. Three graduates represent the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and the American Diocese of the Indian Orthodox Church.

The seminarians also were honored at a banquet held in their honor.
